What is Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)?

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person.

How does the Coronavirus spread?

The virus spreads by droplets made when people with the coronavirus cough, sneeze or talk. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people nearby or be inhaled into their lungs. It may be possible that a person can get the coronavirus by touching the surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

  • Fever or feeling feverish/chills
  • Cough/ excessive sneezing
  • Shortness of breath/problem to breathe
  • Loss of sense of smell

Healthy habits to help prevent the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

  • Clean/Sanitize your hands- use soap or a good sanitizer that is anti-microbial
  • Cover your mouth and nose using mask/tissue or napkins. Please ensure that the mask/ handkerchief is washed and cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Social Distancing- maintain a distance of a minimum of 3 feet while talking to any person.
  • Avoid close contact. Instead of handshakes prefer Namaste.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth – germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.

What should you do when someone you know is diagnosed with the Coronavirus or is unwell?

  • Call your family Doctor.
  • Wear a face mask if you are in the same room.
  • Stay in another room or be separated from the patient as much as possible.
  • Keep the air clean. Open a window in the sick room or use a fan to keep air flowing.
  • Wash or sanitize your hands regularly.
  • Please do not avoid visiting the doctor at the slightest of symptom

Workplace tips for head office and branch office

  • Avoid using the lift and use the staircase. Do not touch the hand grill and adhere to the social distancing norms.
  • Thermal screening for all staff and visitors at the office.
  • Mandatory use of masks, hand sanitizer, and hand gloves/glasses.
  • Avoid Non-essentials visitors in the office.
  • Clean all “high-touch” surfaces, such as tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, beside a table, photocopy machines at regular intervals.
  • Place all used disposable gloves, facemasks, and other contaminated items in a separate designated disposable container.
  • Group Meetings – Avoid group meetings. In the case of a group, the meeting maintains a social distancing norm between the attendee. If that not possible stand maintaining a clear distance.
  • Hard copy files to be avoided wherever possible.
  • Name, contact details, person to meet & last place of visit of visitors to be maintained. Visitors to fill in a form detailing their current health condition about cough, cold & fever.
  • I need to carry laptops and tally data backup every day while going home from the office.
  • Maximize phone communication and avoid meeting visitors.
  • Avoid having lunch in the team.
  • Please get water and food from home.

Tips for Sales Team

  • Communicate more on calls for orders.
  • Wearing a mask/ handkerchief is MANDATORY.
  • MANDATORY carry sanitizer in the pocket daily when on the field.
  • Maintain social distancing in public places.
  • Marking of social distancing to be made at all warehouses.
  • In the case of the warehouse, identify areas that are frequently touched like doors, door handles, shutters, etc and sanitize them at regular intervals.
  • Do not place your equipment (bag, diary, or laptops) on the floor or any surface.
  • Don’t stay hungry – take time out for a snack or a fruit, maintain a healthy diet, and do not skip meals no matter how important the order may be.
  • Download Arogya Setu App – to keep information about all contaminated hotspots and avoid exposure to those areas as much as possible.
  • On returning home, – Remove your outdoor shoes (disinfect whenever possible) – Do touch anything on your home premise – Remove your clothes and dispose of them in a separate bucket – Wash your clothes in hot water with a disinfectant – Disinfect your belongings like a purse, comb, key chain, notebook, pen, etc., – Take a bath.
  • Avoid going close to children and aged people.
  • Public transportation like Metro in Delhi / Mumbai should be avoided at least for 06 months. If unavoidable, each person needs to take extra precautions.
  • Maintain a daily report of the following: – Sales activities like area visited and people meet. – Warehouse activities like details of tempo, driver, helper, daily wager employed if any.
  • Ensure the sanitizing of incoming vehicles and temporary workers or staff.
  • Alternative contact numbers to be shared with all the respective distributor’s
  • Retailers as a backup measure in case of the unavailability of any employee.

Employer Do’s

  • Bio-metric system for recording of attendance to be discontinued.
  • Arrange vehicles for staff dependent on public transport.
  • Maintain a list of COVID hospitals nearby.
  • Allocate a Quarantine room for an employee who may get sick.
  • In case any employee is infected, enquire, and provide basic necessities for his/her family other than COVID – 19 insurance.
  • Daily reporting of the health condition of each employee.
  • Disinfectants, mask, gloves to be placed in all company used cars or vehicles which might be used in emergencies.
  • Arrange backup for employees who will not be able to join the office due to an area sealed or not well.
  • Arrange small Bisleri bottles for visitors which can be easily disposed of.
